Noting to Katie Cook on CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown that the video shows “me and the boys back doing what we used to do. A lot of what you see, we were just sitting there talking about real life stuff… It’s been a long time coming, but 10 years later here we are.” The video also premiered on CMT.com and CMT Australia, as well as on the ViacomCBS billboard in the heart of New York City’s Times Square.
Filmed at an old tobacco barn on Rice’s Nashville property with award-winning director TK McKamy, the video illustrates the simple pleasures celebrated in the song’s lyrics among longtime friends.
Written by Rice together with Hunter Phelps, Cale Dodds and Corey Crowder, the song’s catchy lyrics celebrate the power of slowing down to enjoy meaningful conversation, which has become more relevant over the past year than ever before:
I don’t know what heaven looks like, nah I don’t think anybody does
If it’s like down here up there tonight, then there’s folks like us
Sittin’ here, drinkin’ beer, talkin’ God, amen
Killing time livin’ life with some down home friends
When the world’s gone crazy, man it all makes sense
Sittin’ here, drinkin’ beer, talkin’ God, amen
“We actually wrote this song before the pandemic, which is crazy because it’s almost like God was intervening in the song just to say, ‘Hey y’all, get ready. You’re gonna have a lot of time to sit around a fire, drink some beer and hang out with me,’” shared Rice upon the song’s release earlier this year. “It’s a special song in that way because it really is a celebration of what 2020 became for us and a lot of other people — slowing down to enjoy these moments with our loved ones and having deeper, more meaningful conversations with each other.”
Produced by Florida Georgia Line, Rice & Crowder, the collaboration was a long time coming for Rice and FGL’s Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard who first worked together more than 10 years ago as eager songwriters new to Music City. The song serves as a continuing example of Rice’s desire to share new music with fans more frequently than traditional album cycles allow, as it follows seven-song surprise project The Album Part I (featuring Top 10 hit “Lonely If You Are”) and four-song follow up The Album Part II, both released in 2020, with The Album Part III on the horizon this year.
‘Descânt’ demonstrates the impressive stylistic range that DORDEDUH have achieved on “Har”. Captivating yet powerful, dark but irresistible, this track is a revelation. The lyric video comes with English subtitles that make the band’s complex, multi-layered Romanian poetry accessible to the world.
DORDEDUH comment: "We are glad to provide translations for our lyrics for the first time, starting today with the lyric video of our song 'Descânt', which means 'disenchantment'", writes frontman Edmond "Hupogrammos" Karban. "All the translated lyrics from our new album 'Har' will be made available on our website soon. It was a real challenge to make these translations work. We did not only need to ensure that the real meaning of the words and the message behind them would not get lost in translation, but we wanted to capture at least a small portion of the poetical dimension that our original lyrics have in the Romanian language. We are aware that something always is left out in such a process, but we will not allow this to overshadow our pleasure to transmit our core message to you."

“Har” is available as a hardcover 48-page 3CD/DVD artbook incl. CD with 2 bonus tracks plus 7 track live CD/DVD, limited gatefold 2LP gold vinyl (400 copies), gatefold 2LP black vinyl, and on CD.
With their sophomore full-length, “Har”, Romania’s DORDEDUH have created a rare and unique metal record that defies easy categorisation, pushes boundaries, and offers something new and previously unheard. Dropping names of such game changing artists as FAITH NO MORE, CELTIC FROST, and DEVIN TOWNSEND is by no means intended as a musical comparison, but rather used to indicate the astonishing level of innovation offered by “Har”.
Based on previous experience, guitarists and founders Edmond “Hupogrammos” Karban and Sol Faur aka Cristian Popescu were expected to deliver an album oscillating in the musical space between dark folk and black metal. And, while they did indeed draw from those sources, they also fearlessly incorporated electronic, gothic, rock, psychedelic, prog, and even pop elements without prejudice.

This open-minded approach resulted in a stunning artistic achievement, from the fierce and epic opening track ‘Timpul întâilor’ to the catchy ‘Descânt’ to percussive interludes like ‘Calea magilor’ and cinematic blockbusters such as ‘Vraci de nord’. “Har” stubbornly resists any attempt of an easy stylistic categorisation. Each song has its own distinct personality, but all are tied together by DORDEDUH walking an artistic left-hand path. A lurking sense of occult mystery and underlying darkness permeate even the most joyful moments on “Har”.
It is not the first time that Hupogrammos and Sol Faur have been involved in creating an iconic album. Both had leading roles in composing of NEGURĂ BUNGET’s masterpiece “Om”, which essentially put Romania onto the map of heavy music. After an acrimonious split, the duo from the city of Timișoara founded DORDEDUH and delighted critics and fans alike with the EP “Valea omului” (2010) and debut full-length “Dar de duh” (2012).
Beyond the obvious point of lyrics in the musical Romanian language, the native element also hides in DORDEDUH’s melodies and rhythms as well as in subtle touches of traditional instrumentation. The effect easily compares to the often unnoticed way SYSTEM OF A DOWN have organically incorporated traditional Armenian music into their sound. Despite a strong presence, those regional components will only reveal themselves to connoisseurs of Caucasian – or in the case of DORDEDUH, Carpathian – folk. Yet at no time such knowledge of traditional ingredients is needed to fully enjoy or become immersed in their work.
The remarkable production of “Har” is another factor in making the album special. Although Hupogrammos is an experienced sound engineer, DORDEDUH entrusted mixing and mastering to celebrated producer Jens Bogren, renowned for his singular approach and impact on the work of major artists including OPETH, DIMMU BORGIR, KATATONIA, MOONSPELL, DEVIN TOWNSEND, and IHSAHN. The Swede proved to be an excellent choice, and he brought this dark diamond to perfect brilliance.
Beyond the music, DORDEDUH created “Har” as a journey into the unknown. The Romanians offer their songs to connect listeners with a cosmic heritage buried deep in the subconscious, guiding an aural journey into the collective memories encapsulated within. According to Hupogrammos, “the title of the album could be translated as grace, talent, or as being gifted in the divine sense”.
“Har” is a milestone – and not just for Romanian metal. DORDEDUH have taken an artistic quantum leap that promises to be recognized as one of the finest and most individual metal albums of the year, and perhaps even the decade.

Talking about the experience of shooting the music video for “Millenial Falcons” the band says…
“Lucky for us, Quin’s landlord is a 6th and 7th grade art teacher who mentioned to us that he was moving classrooms and had an empty one to spare for a day. We knew the timing of the janitors, and had to film the entirety of the video in about 5 hours in between their shifts. Once the morning janitor left, we piled into the classroom with lights and cameras, and spent the next 5 hours shooting as much film as we could with whatever we had available. It was hot (laughs).”
“Bleach” and “Millennial Falcons” are both taken from the band’s self-titled debut EP, out now.

The Sweet Meats Slaughterhouse was founded in 1895 by Wilhelm Schröder. Internationally known for his advances in industrialized butchery…he produced 30% of the meats consumed in the United States. In 1915 tragedy struck the small town he called home when all the livestock took some unexplained fatal disease. The ever resourceful Schröder turned to the only available meat. The townsfolk. When they discovered the terrible truth – they enacted their own form of justice. Feeding the once prolific Schröder to his own machines. The Sweet Meats Slaughterhouse remained eerily quiet and vacant..until one night…horrible noises resembling music emanated from the dank hallways.
DAAP combine elements of rock, metal, industrial, and bring a strong post-apocalyptic / horror influence to our characters and stage show. Shows include: Knotfest 2015, Wasteland Weekend 2018/2019, multiple successful independent tours including a national tour in 2019, Twitch.tv appearances, collaborations with international artists Mothmeister, and direct local support for numerous national touring acts from metal, to horror punk, to industrial.
The fanatical cannibals of Dead Animal Assembly Plant have whipped up their own recipe for the horrors of the modern age: with a touch of rock, dash of metal, pinch of industrial, sprinkle in some electronics and heaping helping of madness. Welcome to the slaughterhouse.”

Jamie Stewart’s attempt at a love song, “Sad Mezcalita” marks a noticeably darker turn to OH NO’s previous singles. At the song’s onset, Jamie and Sharon’s voices quiver against moody, ominous instrumentation. It builds and becomes more wistful and somber, anticipating what is sure to be a terrible end. “You’re more than just special to me,” the song pleads – their partner is a lifeline, someone so special even the idea of losing them, to death or to betrayal, is enough to taint their happiness.
The noir-style video for “Sad Mezcalita” personifies the bleak, unsettling elements of the song. Black and white shots of the desert, rain-covered windows, and empty streets all serve as a “tribute to the loss, crime, bleakness, dreams, and tensions” present within the song, according to Xiu Xiu’s Angela Seo who directed the video.
According to Jamie: “Angela said to me, ‘you never write love songs.’ This song tried to do that and failed. To me, it became about how the fear of someone you love being killed or kidnapped or lost in the desert leads to a possessed certainty of those very fates. Wanting and needing and actually feeling love for someone when you know all along that it will end in the worst way imaginable. Sharon seemed like the only person I knew who could pull this conflict off without hesitation. The title is taken from a line in the Otis Redding song ‘I’ve Got Dreams to Remember,’ which is a love song that did not fail in its intent, but is still sad.”
The themes of “Sad Mezcalita” initiate the struggle at play in OH NO. According to Stewart, OH NO was born from betrayal but now exists thanks to the “profound rediscovery of community and friendship.” It features collaborations with a wide plethora of artists including Sharon Van Etten, Chelsea Wolfe, Alice Bag, Haley Fohr of Circuit des Yeux, Owen Pallett, Twin Shadow, along with members of Deerhoof, Drab Majesty, Liars, Shearwater, and many more.
“The guest stars of OH NO reflect the types of people, and many of the very same, who helped remind me that the ratio of beautiful humans to shitty humans is more like 60/40 rather than what I have always assumed was 1/99,” says Jamie Stewart. “Although there is an ‘I HATE PEOPLE’ pin on my guitar strap, I hate them less now.” His revelation, and the music that has come out of it, is a reminder of the power of Xiu Xiu’s music to surprise and connect. Listening to the songs on OH NO, it is hard to feel truly alone. Instead, it is a reminder that even when we’re alone, we’re alone together.

"To me, “The Fall” is about the painful process of trying to cut ties with a toxic person who has drained you of everything, choosing to not be a part of their downfall. I think this single is a good introduction to Rose Crest, and we absolutely can't wait to share more."
Rose Crest is a new name on the emo/alternative scene, but they have already endured and pushed through hardships to record and release music they are proud to share with listeners. The band is based out of Dayton, Ohio and consists of vocalist Brandon Sorrell, guitarist Edward Alec Kemper, guitarist Danny Council, and drummer Matt Atha. They have spent the past six or so months recording their debut EP despite bumps along the way including health issues, line up changes, and addiction recovery.
Their debut single “The Fall” was produced by Huge Face Productions and engineered by Austin Labig and Alex Dahle, both who had an integral role in creating a professional sound
Rose Crest is sure to prick your heart with the thorns of life as their upcoming EP has a theme and story that will likely resonate with anyone who has ever had to conquer hardships in their personal life, and “The Fall” is the first peak inside.
This week, he expands his range with a more cinematic role in the debut of his “That Ain’t Me No More” official music video, which premiered last night following an exclusive interview with TV and radio host Cody Alan:
Directed by Dustin Haney and filmed in the Nashville area, the moody video for “That Ain’t Me No More” follows Matt’s character as he attempts to overcome a troubled past, turn over a new leaf and come to terms with the fact that his ex-girlfriend has moved on to someone new. The cut opens with Matt trying to get a job at a concrete plant, something not unfamiliar to Matt who worked construction at home in Arkansas prior to making it in music.
“I can’t wait for people to see the video. It tells the story of the song in a really interesting way,” says Stell. “It got me back on a job site working like I used to do before I moved to Nashville. In the video I also get my heart broken by a beautiful girl, which I know a thing or two about. I got to do some acting in this video—technically it’s only one line (actually five words) but I didn’t mess it up so that’s a win. I’m proud of this song and I’m proud of this video! Check it out!”
“That Ain’t Me No More” is quickly rising on the US country radio charts, and is the follow up to his back-to-back No. 1 singles “Prayed For You” and “Everywhere But On.” The “atmospheric power ballad” (Rolling Stone) is written by Hardy, Hunter Phelps, Smith Ahnquist, Jake Mitchell and Nick Donley and co-produced by Matt with Ash Bowers. “That Ain’t Me No More” delivers Matt’s first new music since October’s Better Than That EP. The Arkansas native is one of only seven debut country artists in the last five years to have their first two singles top the charts. Matt has amassed 390 Million cumulative streams to date and has certainly earned his spot as one of only five performers selected to Country Radio Seminar’s 2021 New Faces of Country Music class.
