Freetime are a fresh indie rock/pop four-piece from Bristol.
“Daydream,” the debut single, introduces the band’s signature sound with slinky grooves and moreish hooks.
The track weaves pop sensibilities with rich, jazzy harmonies and a tight funk feel. Both mellow and vibrant, “Daydream” captures a sunsoaked, hazy mood with tones of introspection and
longing – hinting at the band’s versatility and creative direction.
The single was recorded at Factory Studios in Bristol, with production provided by Luke
Gibbs (The 1975, Keane, Everything Everything).
Discussing the track, vocalist Kyle Ashwood explains:
“The essence of the song is about that one person you can’t seem to let go of, no matter how
many times you try. It captures the rush and I guess the euphoria of first meeting them, when
everything feels effortless, exciting, almost unreal, but how over time that feeling fades and
things become repetitive, even a little empty. There’s a sense of regret that creeps in,
knowing it’s not what it once was, but still being pulled back into the same cycle again and
again.”
The band are already building hype despite having not yet released any music. With coveted
support slots for Adult Leisure and Iglu & Hartly already under their belts, the band have a
long string of shows planned in their hometown, Bristol, and across the country in 2026.
