Alternative Funk-Metal artist Big Time Special Effects Company will release a first ever music video for the new song “If You Kill Yourself in Hell” on January 13, 2023.
This song was released on December the 9th and is available to stream or download everywhere.
Prepare yourself for a funked up sonic maelstrom of metal, funk, pop, noise and agitating weirdness along with creepy surrealist images of burning dolls, dystopian clowns, ominous yet comedic overtones and slapping bass performances filtered through spy cam visuals.
Commencing as a one-man juggernaut of alternative funk-metal weirdness, Big Time Special Effects Company was formed and is operated by multi-instrumentalist Dan Potter while living in Vancouver, B.C. Altars of the strange is where you’ll find him diligently working to preserve and enhance all that is odd or lurking in the peripheries of culture. The BTSEC ideal is one of obscure lyrical themes and ominous synth/noise tones along with funky extended bass guitar techniques that take sonic prominence to initiate participants into the rite of strange grooves. Fusing intense metal elements with looser methodologies found in experimental music and the wider funkosphere, BTSEC hopes to grab as many broken off genre shards as possible, sticking them together like an assembly of bizarre digital animations. The track “If You Kill Yourself in Hell” is the second single release after “Loose Meat” was debuted earlier this year.
