The Painting are a Scottish rock band formed in 2024, succeeding former band Arcade State established by frontman and songwriter Ciaran Murray (vocals/guitar) joined by brother Jordan Murray (drums), Cameron Roxburgh (guitar/vocals), Lewis Taylor (bass), Jonny Emerson (guitar/vocals) and Marta Leslie (keys/vocals).
They have released one EP, as well as one LP, an EP and a dozen singles under Arcade State.
Stepping out from the alt-rock gloom, the summer of 2025 will see the release of The Painting’s first single ‘Imprint’, from the upcoming album ‘Before The Rain’ slated for release October this year, and will announce the bands arrival as an act that are dab hands at creating massive choruses, huge hooks and driving verses, speeding top down towards the sun slipping under the horizon.
The band have an extensive tour planned to support the release of the album for 2026, with festivals and shows across the country.
