Scott Evil are set to release ‘Big dipper‘ -a powerful debut packed with shoegaze textures, emo vibes and raw DIY energy- out June 5th via Spinda Records.
Following the advance singles “Circles” and “Pizzazz“, German band Scott Evil will release their debut album ‘Big dipper‘ on June 5th, 2025, via Spanish indie label Spinda Records -home to pushing artists like Fin del Mundo, Moura, Buenos Vampiros, Battosai, Las Nubes, Saturna and Moundrag.
With a sound rooted in shoegaze and dream pop, but supercharged with bursts of alternative rock and post-hardcore energy, Scott Evil explore raw emotion through nostalgic, introspective lyrics heavily inspired by Midwest emo. Think Wolf Alice, Leavs, American Football, My Bloody Valentine — all channeled through the unfiltered perspective of a new generation.
Formed in 2018, the band has steadily built a name for themselves across the Central European underground scene with a series of self-released EPs — ‘thisisscottevil’ (2020), ‘Ocean’ (2021), and ‘Quaranteens’ (2022) — and a recent split with Moon Junior (2024). ‘Big Dipper’ is their boldest and most cohesive statement to date.

The album was recorded at Karnak, a self-managed community venue in Kassel, Germany, and produced by Felix Margraf, whose DIY spirit and sonic vision matched the band’s ethos. Final mastering was handled by Bill Henderson of Azimuth Mastering.
‘Big dipper’, with artwork by Julia Walerus and Philipp Koronowski — both members of the band — will be available on June 5th via Spinda Records in digital, CD, and vinyl formats. The vinyl edition, in collaboration with Norwegian indie label Backpack Records, is limited to 150 copies in black and 150 in transparent lavender. Pre-orders are now available at spindarecords.com.
