Following the release of their sophomore album and a string of singles last year, Southampton-born band Regent return with a new track titled âI Feel For Youâ, a tale of lost love and liberation.Â
Opening with euphoric drums and Britpop-indebted guitar twangs, âI Feel For Youâ is the new single from indie-rockers Regent. The track is a blistering account of breakups, as well as the self-pity and self-love that they breed.
Brutally honest verses detail romantic escapades and arguments, while choruses full of feeling show off a softer side to Regent as lead singer Ben Rooke repeats the title phrase.Â
âThe song is about break ups,â Rooke shares, âlove, hate, acceptance, and pitying certain aspects of a breakup. Itâs about being true to yourself when being mistreated, about liberating yourself, self love, and moving on whilst forgiving whoever let you down because of their own problems. Being the bigger person, the higher power, and walking away from egotistical stancesâŠâ
The lyrical intensity is matched by a raucous guitar solo at the height of the track, as well as Rookeâs increasingly emotive vocals. âI Feel For Youâ looks to channel every messy, sad, and beautiful post-breakup emotion into a four minute runtime, balancing commiseration with catharsis in every strum.Â
Following the release of âI Feel For Youâ, Regent will play a hometown show at The Joiners in Southampton on Saturday 26th April, before they embark upon a run of support slots with Fun Lovinâ Criminalsâ frontman Huey Morgan. The band will play two shows with Morgan this May in Hampshire and Bournemouth.

Purveyors of an insurgent, no-nonsense brand of rockânâroll, Regent have forged a reputation as one of Southamptonâs finest and fastest emerging acts.
Tackling widespread issues of political mistrust and economic struggles, to more introspective tracks honing in on personal hardships to the joy to be found in relationships, Regentâs knack for relatable songs and hook-laden tunes has seen their popularity swell in recent years.Â
Riding high on a string of highly-charged single releases, the band delivered their acclaimed debut LP âJust A Revolutionâ in 2022. Two years later, they shared their sophomore offering, âBeggars Beliefâ, which found the band bringing their A-game for 12 incendiary, anthemic tracks born of the zeitgeist and destined to be roared out by the masses.
