The time has come to return to the realms of fantasy, to walk the road through forests of thorn, below towering mountain peaks and down forgotten tunnels deep within the earth.
It’s time to stand beneath a different sky and see in vibrant colour, feel with grand intensity and experience the sense of wonder that has faded from our grey and mundane world; to face dangers untold, to stare into the unblinking gaze of death and live as never before.
Pythia have broken their silence and torn the shadows asunder, opening wide the gates to dream, adventure and magic once more, so summon your courage, reach for your sword and follow them now, into the Unhallowed lands…
Six long years have passed since the UK’s finest exponents of meticulously crafted symphonic metal, Pythia, unveiled their last uplifting musical invocation – The Solace Of The Earth – but now they have returned! Comprising five incredible songs, V Pt. 1: Unhallowed is a stunning new EP in its own right and also the first part of Pythia’s fifth great tale. Within moments of its title track beginning in a flurry of fierce guitars, electric energy and searing solos the passage of time is forgotten. The heroic melodies lift you up on wings of imagination, the curtain is raised and the drama begins to unfold. Every song that follows possesses a rich, individual character and yet the music flows perfectly from track to track, carrying the listener forward through each magnificent chapter on an exhilarating journey. First single, ‘Path Of Decay’ shows Pythia at their most measured, melodic and transportative with an irresistible chorus and breathtaking guitar work, while ‘Muses Of The Night’ unleashes thunderous riffs and rhythms as the wonderful vocals of Sophie Dorman soar effortlessly above through a storm-tossed sky – both are perfect examples of why …Unhallowed will surely be recognised as Pythia’s finest artistic statement to date.
Mixed by Ollie Roberts at Kettle Brew Studios and mastered by the world renowned Jacob Hansen (Epica, Evergrey, Destruction etc) V Pt 1: Unhallowed sounds simply perfect – every cascading solo, every angelic vocal line vivid and electrifying. With artwork created by Remy Cooper of Headsplit Design (Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars, Napalm Death etc) that captures the spirit of this special release, every element of V Pt. 1: Unhallowed has been carefully curated to deliver a unique symphonic metal experience – as only Pythia can.
