BobbyyĀ is a producer, drummer and DJ based in Los Angeles.
Known for his work with the acclaimed US West Coast experimental jazz collectiveĀ High Pulp, as well as the duoĀ sunking, 2024 has seen Bobbyy stepping out as a solo artist.
His recent debut album, āBucketsā, incorporates elements of Chicago House a la Larry Heard, alongside raw, sample-based production reminiscent of Madlib or Daedelus.
Having recently teamed up with US producer/musiciansĀ Galcher LustwerkĀ andĀ Ben HixonĀ for remixes of the album songs ‘Thence I Arrived On A Foreign Shoreā (featuringĀ Pink SiifuĀ andĀ Stas THEE Boss)Ā and āIt Knows The Bliss Is Treacherousā respectively, Bobbyy now joins forces withĀ gum.mp3Ā for a remix of āI Was At The Fenceā (featuringĀ Rachel Lime), the final instalment of the album campaign.

Based in Baltimore, gum.mp3 is known for fusing dance music with elements of funk and jazz. Here, he transforms the original trance/shoegaze-tinged track into a chilled jungle anthem, with liquid breaks and raindrop synths underpinning the angelic, almost whispered voice of New Yorker Lime.

UK acclaim for āBucketsā has come from publications such as Echoes & Dust and Cosmic Jazz, while tracks from the album have received airplay on BBC 6 Music.
