Following the rousing response to their recent single âRiver Of Tearsâ, Seafret are back once again to deliver their captivating new offering âWaitâ.
Set against a backdrop that blends warm, atmospheric instrumentation with euphoric vocals, âWaitâ evokes a sense of longing, gratitude, and vibrancy.
At its core, this is a love letter to the anchors in the duoâs lifeâthe relationships and places that give them reason to return. Itâs about holding on through distance and time, praying that what truly matters can withstand the miles and moments apart. Tender and reflective, the song pulses with emotional honesty, offering both a confession and an exhilarating expression of zest.
Speaking about the new track, they said, “The reality of being a musician is a two faced coin. On one side you have lots of incredible experiences and get to see places you could never have dreamt of going. The other is that it takes you away from everyone and everything you love and call home. This song is about finding those people, that place and praying they can hold strong until you return.”

10 years since the release of their hit single âAtlantisâ, Yorkshire duo Seafret – aka best friends and musical co-conspirators Jack Sedman and Harry Draper – are heading into 2025 as a band reborn. Having watched the epic emotional catharsis of that single gain a whole new lease of life over the past three years, re-entering the cultural conversation via a viral TikTok moment that then snowballed into more than a billion streams, the band have never had more eyes on them, and more fans awaiting their next moves.
Â
A decade into their career, itâs a situation that neither musician could have predicted. âYou canât compute those numbers,â says Draper. âWeâre incredibly proud, but you canât get your head round it. A million, maybe, but not a billionâŚâ Yet while the stats themselves might be too fantastical for either of these two eternally grounded Northerners to fully reconcile, the fire itâs lit in them is far more tangible. âThereâs been a new buzz since everything with âAtlantisâ,â Draper continues. âIt feels like weâre a new band again.â
Â
Having released three studio albums of heart-on-sleeve indie-folk gems that have, from 2016 debut âTell Me Itâs Realâ to 2023âs lockdown-recorded third LP âWonderlandâ, pushed their songwriting into increasingly confident and varied realms, Seafret in 2025 have the vitality of a new band but the experience of seasoned pros. In some ways, theyâre still the same men that first met at a Bridlington open mic night more than a decade ago – true music fans who just want to communicate via the storytelling of a song – but theyâve also grown exponentially. Now, theyâre sailing proudly into the new horizons of their second wind as a band: reinvigorated, replenished, and brighter than ever. âThese last years have just made us more hungry for it again,â says Sedman. âIt really feels like itâs a fresh new Seafret and weâre ready to go.â
