Acclaimed Nashville artist, songwriter and producer Sean McConnell will return to the UK this autumn for a three city tour, with headline dates in London, Manchester, and Glasgow, in addition to a stop in Copenhagen at La Oficina. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 15th at 10am local time.
Known for his soulful voice, poetic songwriting, and genre-crossing catalog, McConnell has built an international following over two decades of acclaimed solo work and high-profile collaborations with artists including Tim McGraw, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, and Michael Franti.
“I am thrilled to be headed back across the pond for a short, but sweet week of shows in some of my favorite places supporting my new record ‘Skin’,” shared Sean. “Robbie Cavanagh will be a special guest on several of these shows and, for real, he is a force to be reckoned with. It has been a minute since I’ve been back, so I can’t wait to see lots of beautiful British and Danish faces.”
SKIN, released earlier this year, is an intimate 11-song collection exploring themes of identity, growth, and the human spirit. While the record has drawn widespread praise for its lyrical depth, these shows promise a live experience that brings McConnell’s emotional storytelling to the stage in its purest form.
Most recently, From ONE, to TENN just shared the latest in a series of live videos of songs from the album, filmed on location at historic Tennessee venue Harken Hall – watch ‘Demolition Day’ here; and Sean shared the first episodes his brand new podcast, Out of the Silent Desert, featuring interviews with fellow songwriters Taylor McCall (E1) and Randy Rogers (E2).
European fans can expect a career-spanning setlist blending his newest material with beloved favourites, delivered with the warmth, wit, and honesty that have made McConnell a standout performer on both sides of the Atlantic.
“There is a part of me that is always after the next high. Chasing the next dopamine hit,” says McConnell. “My chemical makeup seems to always remind me that if a little bit of something is good then all of it would be even better. Anything from cigarettes, coffee, alcohol, even music. ‘I get a taste, I lose control, I learn a chord, I write a song, I sell my soul to rock and roll.’ The moment I learned to play a chord I never put the guitar down. My whole life was spoken for in that moment in a sense. I’m an all-in or all-out guy. A dog with a bone.”
That same intensity fueled his latest album SKIN. McConnell says giving up alcohol and shedding other old habits has sharpened his focus: “I bob and weave, ever mindful of my appetite.”
