Founded by Kristof Bathory at the turn of the millennium, Dawn Of Ashes emerged from the industrial and aggrotech genres before expanding into the blackened metal and extreme industrial scenes.
Bathory relocated the band from Los Angeles to Denmark in 2023, shortly before beginning the writing of the band’s current album, ‘Infecting The Scars’, which was released on Metropolis Records in June 2025.
An EP of remixes from the album entitled ‘Reinfecting The Scars’ has been issued today (14th November). The song ‘Faith Desecration’ has been reworked by the Florida-based dark electronic act God Module and LA industrial/EBM outfit Frontal Boundary, ‘Throne Of Misanthropy’ by DJ C-LEKKTOR from Mexico City and LA dark drum & bass artist Dimensional Dryft, with a treatment of ‘Hypertensive Crisis’ by aggrotech/black metal band Alien:Nation from Bogota, Colombia.

Having headlined the final night of the Helsinki Industrial Festival on 8th November, Bathory will be taking DoA back to the US West Coast in early 2026 for a run of 11 currently confirmed shows that commence in Los Angeles on 24th January.
‘Infecting The Scars’ is the 14th full-length studio record by Dawn Of Ashes, with Bathory describing it as “a reinterpretation of our earlier era, bringing nostalgia from the dark electro/aggrotech realm while offering a more polished and modern sound.”
Pushing forward with a new level of intensity and maturity, it marks a rebirth, fusing the raw, unfiltered aggression of the past with a refined and evolved sound. Lyrically and sonically, it sees the group reach a level where the songs are no longer merely anthems of destruction, but rather an exploration of psychological horror, inner demons and the scars left behind by life’s most brutal moments.
